CHANGING SEARCH SETTINGS

To easily enable or disable your toolbar's search settings, simply follow the steps below.

Disabling the "Page Not Found" search page

  1. Open your browser's Add-ons Manager by clicking Tools > Add-ons
  2. In the Extensions tab, find your toolbar and click the Options button
  3. In the Toolbar Options window, click the Additional Settings tab
  4. Uncheck the box next to: Show an alternate search page when web pages are not found
  5. Close and re-open your browser

Disabling the "New Tab" search page

  1. Open a new tab in your browser
  2. Click "Remove" under the search box
  3. Close and re-open your browser

Disabling the home page search page

  1. In your browser's menu, select Tools > Options
  2. Click the General icon
  3. In the Startup box, make your selections

Disabling/changing the toolbar's search engine

  1. Open your browser's search engine menu (upper-right corner of your browser) by clicking the arrow
  2. Choose Manage Search Engines
  3. Select the toolbar's search engine
  4. Click the Remove button, and then click OK

Disabling the toolbar's search from your browser's address bar

  1. Open your toolbar's main menu (click on the arrow just to the right of the toolbar's logo)
  2. Select Toolbar Options and click the Additional Settings tab
  3. Uncheck the box next to: Enable search from address bar

Accessing your Toolbar Options menu when your toolbar is hidden

  1. In your browser menu, select Tools > Add-ons
  2. Find your toolbar on the list and click the Options button

*If these directions do not match your version of Chrome, please paste the following URL into your address bar: chrome://chrome/settings

Disabling the toolbar's search engine

  1. Click the Tools (wrench) icon
  2. Select Settings
  3. In the Search section, select your preferred search engine in the drop-down menu
  4. For more options, click Manage search engines

Disabling the home page search page

  1. Click the Tools (wrench) icon on the browser
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select the Basics tab
  4. In the Home page section, enter the URL of the web page you want as your default home page

Disabling the New Tab search page

  1. Open a new tab in your browser
  2. Under the search box, click Restore
  3. Close and reopen your browser

Disabling the "Page Not Found" search page

  1. Open your toolbar's main menu (click on the arrow just to the right of the toolbar's logo)
  2. Select Toolbar Options and click the Additional Settings tab
  3. Uncheck the box next to: Fix "page not found" errors

Disabling the "New Tab" search page

  1. Open your toolbar's main menu (click on the arrow just to the right of the toolbar's logo)
  2. Select Toolbar Options and click the Additional Settings tab
  3. Uncheck the box next to: Show a search box on new browser tabs

Disabling the home page search page

  1. In your browser menu, select Tools > Internet Options
  2. Click the General tab
  3. In the Home page section at the top of the dialog, make your selections

Disabling/changing the toolbar's search engine

  1. Open your browser's search engine menu (upper-right corner of your browser) by clicking the arrow
  2. Choose Manage Search Providers
  3. Select the toolbar's search engine
  4. Click the Remove button, then click Close

Disabling the toolbar's search from your browser's address bar

  1. Open your toolbar's main menu (click on the arrow just to the right of the toolbar's logo).
  2. Select Toolbar Options and click the Additional Settings tab.
  3. Uncheck the box next to: Enable search from address bar

Accessing your Toolbar Options menu when your toolbar is hidden

  1. Right-click on a neutral area at the top of your browser; a list of your add-ons will appear
  2. Choose your toolbar name to make it visible again

Disabling the toolbar's search engine

  1. Open the Safari menu
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the General icon
  4. In the Default search engine field, click the down arrow to select a new search engine

Disabling the home page search page

  1. Open the Safari menu
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the General icon
  4. In the Homepage box, enter the URL of the web page you want as your default home page
