Conduit Publisher Guidelines
You work hard to create cool content and apps, and you want to be sure your content is legitimate and safe. For this very reason, we have provided these guidelines to ensure that each of your apps meets the company's requirements, and maintains a style and integrity consistent with Conduit's values.
Every app that you create, whether a single app or a community toolbar, must comply with the following guidelines:
Legitimate Content
Apps should only include content which is considered legitimate and legal to use and distribute according to Conduit's terms of service and all applicable laws.
Examples of content which is not allowed include:
- Illegal Online Gambling content
- Pornographic content, or nudity of any sort
- Illegal drug-related materials or references
- Content which is protected by intellectual property laws including unauthorized usage of trademarks, trade names or logos, distribution of torrent or peer-to-peer files, offering protected material and more
- Content which causes or enables security threats including: malware, viruses, or any other computer code, files or applications designed to interrupt, hijack, destroy or limit functionality of any computer software/hardware/network
- Content which violates the privacy rights of end users or third parties, including: collection of information that is in violation of Conduit's privacy policies or without proper prior consent
- The app causes the user to generate an abnormal amount of searches/installations
- The app contains a search engine other than the default engine provided by Conduit
- The app hijacks users' searches or forces users to change their online activities
User Experience Issues
- The app includes information that can mislead users or falsely coerce them to take certain actions
- The app includes excessive advertisements (e.g. pop ups, affiliate offerings, etc)
Marketplace Issues
The Conduit Marketplace is the world's largest resource for web apps and add-ons. Examples of Marketplace content which is not allowed include:
- The app does not have a unique name (there can be no duplicate names for apps)
- The app does not contain any offensive, explicit, or forbidden words and terms which may be sex- , torrent- , or gambling-related.
- The app contains broken links or content that is not properly displayed on popular browsers
- The description or title as offered in the marketplace does not clearly explain the nature of the app
- The app doesn't provide any value or unique experience for the user
- The app includes poor graphics that affect the user experience:
- Low picture resolution
- Description image doesn't reflect the actual content of the app
- Provocative images, screen-shots, icons, or thumbnails
- Empty or missing images, screen-shots, icons, or thumbnails
Apps which do not comply with the above guidelines will be deleted by our team of editors.
